Travels Revisited: Canadian Rockies

It was late in the season to be visiting the Canadian Rockies. In a few weeks, ski season would begin – but October was sort of the shoulder.

Cost effective approaches to adventures.

I had dreamed of, and saved up money and vacation time, so I could take Rocky Mountaineer into the Rockies.

We left from rainy Vancouver – so rainy I didn’t really get to see much of it – slowly rising up as we headed west, first free of the rain, then the colors of deciduous trees, then seemingly free of the clouds entirely and surrounded by yellow aspens, snow capped mountains came into view.

Day by day we saw beautiful scenes, deep glacier-formed lakes, even blinding ice fields.

And we visited Canada’s Yoho National Park, where this natural bridge was found.

After this we went to Banff (where a piece of my heart broke off and stayed behind) and then on to Calgary.

This photo of the natural bridge is also on the wall of my living room, reminding me daily of the beauty of the Creator as reflected in His creation.
