This week brought a last gasp of pleasant weather before the soggy dregs of tropical storms and the early wisps of winter blew in.
It was a fine day to stroll along the boardwalk where the Susquehanna meets the Chesapeake.
The water was clear and blue at the top of high tide.
The last time we went, we were after rather than before a storm.
On that day the water was churning and almost solid-looking, with the color of cafe au lait — far different from the still smooth reflective blue we experienced on this visit.
We had a pleasant day, and a lovely walk, and a nice close to the season.
