August 9: Invergordon, Scotland

Back at home a warrant is served at MarALago — the news of which makes S late again this morning — but here in Scotland we have an all-day excursion around Inverness, including to see Loch Ness.

Yesterday we saw the beginnings of heather starting to purple up the hills, but today it’s patches of purple fireweed, as common here along roads and open spaces, as day lilies would be at home.

I was happy we got to see highland cows (hairy coos) en route back toward Inverness.

We stop for a very late lunch and then we’re off to Culloden, before returning to the ship.
