After the week’s exertions, I find myself landing along the border of Virginia and West Virginia.

I’m almost exactly at the Rice Fields Trailhead for the Appalachian Trail, for those coming on or off, and the Rice Fields Shelter for those hiking through.
Just behind me was the Angels Rest Trailhead, and a nearly outlook as well. For which there is a photo to be shared:

It’s been good progress this week. I’ve been pushing to do more miles than usual, storing some up against a planned lull in pedaling to come. So a new set of borders is a good thing. It feels like progress.
I’ve also been doing a hard push for my steps in Japan, because I’m anxious to get started on something new. But more on that another day.
