For the most part there isn’t much in the way of photos on Street View for the Appalachian Trail.
This makes sense when you realize (a) trail=Google car will not be passing by and (b) the AT itself is a trail that is not for the feint of heart. The people trekking it are generally giving not their all without a ton of time and energy left over to snap shots.
And those that are, are not necessarily posting them to Google.
Plus – well let’s be honest – if you’ve ever walked in the woods you know that generally speaking you’re surrounded by trees. Not a lot of vistas.
So thank you, Todd H: your post of Roan Mountain makes me feel ever so slightly less like I’m just pedaling in my basement, to nowhere.
Which technically I am, but it doesn’t have to feel that way.
