Virtual Fellowship: Success

One thousand, eight hundred, fifteen miles.

That’s the distance if you choose the long version (when a choice is given) for the Lord of the Rings virtual challenges from The Conqueror.

Which of course I did.

That’s because I was going to pedal them. I’m walking virtual Japan at present. So I needed something long-distance. Especially since now I’m within 4000 miles of finishing the VAL (Virtual African Loop), and I really really want to be done by year end.

So there we are. 5-for-5 challenges completed, virtually following (SPOILERS!) Frodo and Sam as they take the Ring from the Shire to the fires of Mordor.

So this was fun. The final medal should be along any time now. So maybe I’ll share those when it comes.

Of course this finishing up means I’ll need to do something else. Which leaves me with the virtual Appalachian Trail coming up. It’s the longest one I haven’t done yet, at 1968.3 miles.

It also has no postcards and no street view. So this ought to be tiresome pretty quickly.

Well anyway, IRL no one can pedal the actual Appalachian Trail (or AT because I don’t want to keep typing that). And indoorsy as I am, I won’t be out hiking the real thing anytime soon.

But that’s what is next up for me virtually.

Distances to cover!

Up next Virtual AT
