Virtual … whatever

Okay so now I can’t even remember what I have or haven’t mentioned, challenge-wise.

I had already passed by Kruger National Park on the VAL, way back last year when I was trekking South Africa.

Ooh that reminds me that I have got to make Isabel’s oxtail stew again!

Anyway… The Conqueror recently re-released their Kruger challenge. The original one was longer but it didn’t really focus on the park. And street views probably won’t get you a lot of safari experience. So the new one is shorter but it’s fully integrated into the Safari theme and the “Big 5” animals.

So that was cool. And yeah, past tense.

So that meant I needed to do something new. Of course!

I decided to walk the 70 miles of virtual Niagara.

We’re starting in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Lovely place. I visited there ever-so-briefly, on route to my day trip to Niagara Falls.

So this is how I’m trying to keep myself excited to meet my step goal. I have been slacking off and I need to catch up.

The travels set me back a bit – no pedaling – so I’ve been making that up. My pedaling miles are all going toward the Virtual Lord of the Rings series. There are five segments and I’m in the second one, which is one of the longer ones. Well, by choice because I wasn’t walking it.

Anyway, I’m trying to get myself back on track to maybe finish the VAL by the end of the year. That will take some real diligence and dedication.

I don’t know if I’ll make it. But I’ll try!

Little by little…
