April 30: Zeebrugge, Belgium

(Original Itinerary for this day: St Petersburg but well obviously not now. We weren’t planning to get off there anyway just because tensions and now… we’ll certainly not.)

(Secondary itinerary: Tallinn, Estonia, also no longer on the itinerary)

This wasn’t on the original itinerary at all. I think it’s truly serendipitous. Among the best days of the trip!

Brugges is a historic and absolutely beautiful city. I don’t know how I’m going to choose photos to share. But here we go.

There are of course also foods for which Belgium is famous. Of course we had Belgian waffles while in Belgium.

We did not go for Belgian chocolate. We did have Belgian fries. (Oh, do you know them as French fries? Nope, that’s a misnomer.)

Of course I had Belgian frites. If you knew me at all you’d know that!

If I’m not saying much it’s only that there was so much to absorb. It was truly a gorgeous city and we’re glad we stayed here rather than switch to the belatedly added Brussels excursion. I hope one day there will be an opportunity to go there too. But for now, I could not be happier about this stop. 10/10 highly recommend!
