Usually ships sail about 6 miles off the Pitons, but this morning we were to pass within 2 miles, for some drone photography.
Well we both separately made our way up on deck hoping to see, and apparently that was all a no-go. Probably because there wasn’t enough light or the morning was overcast or what have you. Because we had sailed on past and it was still dark.

No worries though, because our excursion included a catamaran ride over to see them up close.

We also went up to the volcano sulfur springs, botanical gardens, had a light but delicious lunch, and toured the island.

It’s the hottest time of the year here in St Lucia, and there’s no A/C in the busses so windows can circulate outside air.
Even so it was a really lovely day – though a really full day also.
Bed comes early. Steps goal secondary to sleep needs.
Tomorrow is another day – and another island!

Happy birthday, Mark! or I should say, Mahk!
