We were hitting 2 ports a day. Unfortunately, both Mykonos and Santorini were for afternoon arrival.
We anchored, therefore, in the late winter afternoon – by the time we tendered to shore and hopped the bus and drive to the far end of the island, the sun had set and views of the famously white buildings with bright blue domes were quickly being lost to darkness.
But not entirely lost.
Partly because I never ran so fast in my whole life to get anywhere. Trying to outrun the turn of the earth is a losing battle, by the way.
And partly because our tour guide knew where we could line up a reverse shot that would make use of the small amount of artificial light on the buildings.
