So a lunar eclipse was visible in North America one day last week.
Based on the timing, I didn’t expect to see it.
But it turned out to be a commute morning, which meant I would only miss it by a short time.
I had no intention of waking up extra early to see it though.
But I did wake up early. I was walking out the door in time to catch the latter part of the eclipse. The moon was just visible over the rooftops and only 1/4 lit.

By the time I crossed the Susquehanna I could turn back and see the moon now half lit.
And by the time I got to the office, the moon was almost full again; just a small nibble still blocked.
So that was the offsetting bonus to an otherwise useless commute.
It’s something! I’ll take it!
