Virtual African Loop: Guinea II

My route doubled back a bit and cuts through the southern part of Guinea. Again, I didn’t purposefully miss Liberia; i just looped over to Freetown, Sierra Leone and then clicked in Capetown, South Africa, and let the system pick the southbound route.

Just back into Guinea en route to Côte D’Ivoire

The chips fell where they would. So… no Liberia. I might decide to cook something from there anyway (if I find a recipe that looks interesting). And certainly this gives me a bit of extra time to choose recipes for Ghana, Togo and Benin.

Or (and!) I might go back and cook more recipes for the places I’ve been. I’ve already made the shrimp stew I made to celebrate Western Sahara, and Senegalese Chicken Yassa is absolutely a standard in my repertoire now. The Moroccan seasoned sweet potatoes are also a regular thing around here.

But the chicken dish I made from Morocco was underwhelming and I may take this time to try something else. (There are a ton of Moroccan recipes and I am excited to give another one a try). And the ginger beer from Sierra Leone was so refreshing (and was so soothing for stomach upsets). Must whip up another batch!

Meanwhile I’ll be stepping and pedaling my way toward the next “new” border crossing, into Côte D’Ivoire.

Catch you there!
