I’m not making such bad time, all things considered. I’m catching up to the pace marker, albeit slowly.
By tomorrow I may have crossed into Mauritania:
BTW: Unbeknownst to me, I have seen Mauritania. Parts of The Fifth Element were filmed there.
Mauritania has a difficult history and a challenging present, from what I’m gleaning from Wikipedia. (I might even be a little glad this portion of my trip is virtual.)
Still, you know me. It’s a big beautiful world, and I always want to see more of it.
Even if for now that’s just via my imagination.
