It’s the small hours. I woke up too-hot in the night… it was a bright, sunny, humid 90-plus degrees during the day. I got up for water. I look out the front windows, where the moon is perfectly halved and perfectly framed, seemingly eye-level from my upper-story vantage point.
And it’s orange.
Just a trick of the dusty haze in the horizon. Just the the start of summer heat. Just a little too late-or-early to be up. Just about time to go back to bed and try, try again.
